"Pay to use our emoticons"
"Pay to do this"
"Pay to do that"

"Let's show EVERY notification when you're in a group chat"
"Anyone can add you into a conversation"
"Anyone can message you"

In Kiks defence, isn't that kind of the point; everyone being able to message each other. So that it can be a more versatile messaging system as if you look at Facebook Messenger (If you have it). That's a very good messager but to talk to people you have to see what they look like and add them, if you have private on.

But Kik allows you to speak to people without sharing any personal info other than your username. So in my opinion I believe Kik is better for younger people to use as it seems slightly more safe.

I know that people can still get your username but only if they see you tell someone or see it in a chat.

Actually, the ability to talk to anyone regardless of if information is shared on your profile makes the app even MORE unsafe. Kids could literally talk to anyone and that's probably not a good thing. You don't know who you are talking to.
