No wonder the voting turn-out is low compared to some western countries. The presidential race is like a race between two corporate horses. Most of the debates consist of lip-service, patriotic rhetoric, blame game, empty promises or personal attacks made by candidates of either party while the gap between the rich and poor keeps widening and the debt keeps increasing. While I agree that some candidates are worse than others (Trump springs to mind), both parties are full of it. Just my two cents.

Lol, it was an old quote by SolarPug (I think) where he just said that to say he agreed with whatever he quoted.

Sorry I misunderstood you post, I tend to over-think things a bit.

Ted Cruz and Rand Paul are the best candidates we have (no matter what stuart98 says)
If you think that Ted Cruz has "anti-American" ideals... Then you don't understand what American ideals are.

Why is this your viewpoint?

Explain.

Frankly, you're wrong, and what Ecthelion posted is one of the reasons why.

We need a president who will take on the real issues such as Isis, nuclear Iran, and some others. Hillary and Bernie think global warming is the greatest issue facing the world today... Sorry there's no punch line.
And as for American ideals, just think about what the founding fathers wanted for themselves when they created the Declaration of Independence, and the constitution. Everything that Ted Cruz believes, is written in those documents. Our current president has disregarded the constitution in every one of his decisions. Ben Franklin once said that "those who would give up freedom to attain safety, deserve neither, and will receive neither" or something to that effect. Barrack Obama says the opposite. "We must be willing to give up a little bit of freedom in order to save lives."
If there are any good things about Donald trump, then they are that he loves America, and he is not PC.

I'm sorry to say, but global warming IS the greatest issue facing the world today. Have you ever studied space in school? If so, you'll know Venus, despite being the 2nd planet from the sun, is the Hottest planet in our solar system. Why is that? Because of the same gasses that are causing our own Ozone layer to disappear. And if that disappears completely.. well, you can say goodbye to the outside world as you know it. As well, in terms of periods of time where we have had "Ice Ages" we're heading towards one, not away from one. And yet, global temperatures are going up? And not by a small amount, these are significant changes.

If you think Isis and Nuclear Iran, Korea firing nuclear rockets very unsuccessfully into the ocean and any other country is a problem, then you might want to rethink just which country first created the Atomic Bomb and decided to drop it on CIVILIAN targets. Gee, I'm not sure they taught that in history lessons did they? If countries want to try and start world war 3, I'm sure that they are very much not going to get far. As well, World War 3 would be a nuclear war, there would be no winners, only losers. So no, countries experimenting with nuclear materials, terrorists, who by the way, are attacking because you attacked them, are not "the issue". In fact on a list of importance. They're half way down the list.

I don't disagree, hence why I support Bernie.
Achilles wrote: such as Isis
No one running for president will not deal with this.
Achilles wrote:nuclear Iran
Iran isn't going to get nukes; the nuclear deal has shut down everything. Even if this wasn't the case, Iran poses less of a threat than North Korea, and North Korea poses virtually none. Every nation in the world knows that any government who attacks the U.S. ,especially with nukes, is not long for this world.
Achilles wrote:Hillary and Bernie think global warming is the greatest issue facing the world today... Sorry there's no punch line.
That's because it is.
Explain how a few thousand fanatics on the other side of the world are going to destroy our way of life.
Explain how North Korea with it's half a dozen crappy nukes are going to stand up to our hundreds of Thermonuclear weapons.
They are not a serious threat to our way of life.
Climate change? Another story entirely. 97% of scientists agree that it's happening and that it's caused by us. You cannot disregard the 97% and call yourself anything but ignorant.
How's our economy going to be when New York, San Francisco, Portland, and Atlanta have been consumed by rising seas? How's the world food supply going to be when arable farmland has been damaged? To say that Climate Change is not the biggest challenge facing our nation, let alone the world, speaks of a dangerous degree of ignorance.
Achilles wrote:And as for American ideals, just think about what the founding fathers wanted for themselves when they created the Declaration of Independence, and the constitution.
I am, your point is?
Achilles wrote: Everything that Ted Cruz believes, is written in those documents.
That's funny. Where in the constitution does it say Homosexuals are evil and should be killed, as someone whose endorsement Ted Cruz toutes believes? Where does it say that Transgender people can only use the restroom of a gender they are not? Where does it say that atheists cannot be president? Article VI paragraph 3 perhaps, where it says, unequivocally, that there shall be no religious tests for office? If you disagree with me that's fine, but using bullshit in your arguments isn't going to do anything to improve how terrible they are.
Achilles wrote:Our current president has disregarded the constitution in every one of his decisions.
Give me one paragraph or clause he has disregarded in something he's done and how it goes against the constitution.
Achilles wrote: Ben Franklin once said that "those who would give up freedom to attain safety, deserve neither, and will receive neither"

Achilles wrote:Barrack Obama says the opposite. "We must be willing to give up a little bit of freedom in order to save lives."
Citation needed, I can't find this.
Achilles wrote:If there are any good things about Donald trump, then they are that he loves America, and he is not PC.

He loves money. How does he love America? He's the least charitable billionaire out there. His tax plan would more than double our deficit while making him more money, and his immigration "plan" would not only tear families apart, not only not work, but it would also shred our economy.

This praise of people for not being politically correct is the biggest joke of the election season. Political correctness is saying what people want to hear so that you get there vote in lieu of a less appreciated term. This railing against "PC Culture" fits that definition fully and completely. He's not trying to get the vote of the non-bigoted and informed, he's trying to get the vote of the ignorant and by using the term PC Culture, he's manipulating them into voting for him. He's not being brave by saying what his base wants to hear.
Thanks, Stuart98.

If you plan to drive your brand new Lamborghini over a bridge, and 97% of bridge architects say that the bridge will fall down as you drive over it, and 3% are unsure/ say it won't.. Will you still drive your car over the bridge?

Hell, I'm not taking the chances. Even if only 50% said that the bridge would fall down, I still ain't driving my car over that bridge.

You know, back then.. they were still using black people as slaves, I'd like to see your founding fathers bring that up without having their asses thrown in jail these days.. So maybe not "everything" should be listened to hmm?
