PSA: Photobucket changed it's ToS

In case some of you were not aware, PhotoBucket requires you to pay $400 a year in order to hotlink your images to external websites.
This affects us, given we are.. of course an external website from photobucket (Duh), it means that any images uploaded there cannot be used in forum posts or in avatars any longer.

Now, this may not be an issue for a lot of people, given the variety of different places that you can upload images to now days, but anyone who has uploaded an image to photobucket and shared it in any location, and you want that image to be functional, you should seek a different hosting website. Personally, I'd recommend using either tinypic.com (tinypic IS owned by photobucket tho so keep an eye on that one) or imgur.com.
Any other image hosting websites you encounter are probably going to be just as effective.

It's a real shame because anyone who goes back through the forum and looks over old posts are going to have pictures removed due to this change. $400 A year is not worth it especially when there are so many other free websites that do as good as or a better job.

Also, some users have found that they are unable to download their images from photobucket, unless they fork over the $400. Basically having their images being held to ransom. Personally.. I can't even login to photobucket any more. Nor do I even remember what images I had saved there.

This doesn't affect me since I use an ios 3rd party Flickr app. But I think their decision will severely
backfire. If they don't add something groundbreaking to their current
light featured site to accommodate for that $400 price tag, their future will be uncertain. Maybe $99 a year would be more reasonable. I also have to agree with multi, there are better free image sites than photobucket.

Euuuuuggggghhh.
I don't understand why they'd do this, like it is just bad for their business. It feels they're so out of touch with the internet if this is how they run their company.
I haven't used PhotoBucket in years but I had a load of images hosted their :|

I finally managed to login to my account. Turns out I have a bunch of junk screenshots that I don't care about from about 3+ years ago.
In any case though, nothing important. I feel sorry for the websites that heavily relied on photobucket for image hosting. It's unfortunate and completely greedy of the company to limit the sharing of images. And it's outright hilarious that they think so highly of themselves as if there aren't other free methods out there still. Basically any place you can upload an image these days allow you to link pictures.

Hell I could upload a picture to discord and using that link, post the image anywhere.
