It stands for Real Time Strategy. Basically in rts's you have an overhead view and you command little guys on the screen to win the battle or whatever, it can be really fun if executed correctly, but takes time and skill to do that.

Like Halo Wars? I didnt like it but i liked Warcraft III.

I like a 1999 space themed one called Homeworld. Great storyline, graphics were basically the best of its time, music was fitting at all times, and fantastic gameplay.
