Hi all, ok I'm going to share my lock door and key strategy using blocks and different tool materials for you adventure maps. This is the same strategy I used for this map. Players won't be able to break the block unless the have the right tool.
This is if you have two paths in your map and you want someone to go the other direction first for story purposes or whatever.
This is weakest to strongest:

Note: these tools have to be given in-order in your map and the corresponding blocks have to be placed in order to guide the player. If you give a stronger tool and block first before the weaker it won't work properly. You can use stronger blocks such as darkstone or strange stone as barriers if you really don't want people to cheat by breaking around the door blocks. Instead they will have to break the specific door block.

1. wood hammer/ stone blocks and chests.
You have to break chest on top of block to break stone block.

stone= S
chest= C
Plate rock=P
You= x

CPP
SX

2.Stone pickaxes/ violet dirt
3.Copper pickaxe/ Jungle dirt
4.Iron pickaxe/ Mossy gravel or boulder block
5.silver pickaxe/ Plate rock
6.Gold pickaxe/ strange stone
7.Mithril pickaxe/ Dark stone
Hope this helps any of you adventure map creators. :)

Sure, which signs and dynamite have you found so far? Oh, and there is no particular order to find signs or dynamite. I just put numbers on the signs to help the player identify them.

Of course. Here are where the other ones are hidden.
Open Spoiler
# 1 sign say, " Navigators at some point get lost in the unknown. But a star always points the way..."
The answer is north, so from that sign the dynamite is upward. So, if you hit the super zoom out button you will see a dark section in the map. That's where it is. To enter that area go in the building that says Light house Tower on the left of the dark area. Now see the other door. Go through that door. Continue to walk with a torch in the hand to the right. Jump over that block and it will be in that area. Image
#4 sign says, "The older it gets the better it tastes. It is also quite popular in a fancy bash. But in the end you must remeber to store it in a cool dark place." The answer is a wine cellar. Go north-east of this section of the map to the building that says Wicker Winery. You need to go in the underground basement sort of place in one of the buildings it has two chests and a barrel in it. Dig the block on the floor that has nothing on top of it hope this helps. :) .

Took me a while to find #4, I ended up destroying like half the building for no good reason :P

Yeah I could probably use a grey wool or dirt block to make it easier. :)

That would be good. It would be like you dug out and replaced a bit of the floor to hide the TNT there.
What's the floor now?

Broken stone but the rest of the floor is broken stone too so yeah it's kind of hard to tell if anything is buried there. ;)

Wow, that's a very well-made adventure map! Enjoyed it from the very beginning till the end. I've got a score of 277. BTW, can somebody explain how taming collar works? I tapped Betty with it, but instead adding cow to the inventory, it killed her. Man, I felt so ridiculous, after going through different obstacles, I received a raw leather with a cow meat... :-}

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
Aww, poor Betsey :( :asd: . Anyway yeah, all you have to do is drag the collar to a hot slot and select it. Then tap the animal you want to capture. So I'm not sure why it killed it. Its not suppose to kill the mobs :mumble: .
