I've never modded or have never been deep in scripting and coding i stay away from most pixel sprite styled games because there more difficult to mess with than, if i wanted to open up fallout 3 modder kit and mod that..
maybe in junk jack x they will release some sort of open source engine/ sdk that allows you to simply create mods using sprites codes and what not
