I figured out an equation to convert HEX to DEC

(I feel so smart today)

Let's use

AB as our HEX value.

To convert it to DEC, all we have to do is set the first bit "A" as "X," and the second bit "B" as "Y."

So our equation looks like this: 16X + Y= our DEC value

So let's plug our byte "AB" into the equation.

16(A)+B=

In HEX, A=10 and B=11, so

16(10)+11=

160+11=

171
