Super smooth texture pack, maybe...

PostMon Feb 18, 2013 2:50 am

I was just messing around with the textures and tried this. So far I've only done the blocks you see.

Sort of like Wack3blocks, but I think it's different enough.

Things I'd like advice on.
1. Should I even do this? Is it too similar to Wack3blocks?

2. Clay looks just like stone so…
2a. I can make clay more orangey.
2b. Or I can change the border color.

3. Grass, border or no? I like the way the grass looks with no border, but it looks a bit odd where it matches up to a blocks border.

3. Who is John Galt?
4. Lack of objection does not indicate consent.
5. We scream, we shout, we wail, we cry; but in the end we all must die.

Looks cool. I don't think wack3blocks should be the only super clean texture pack...

Yes, The clay looks like stone. Make it a bit more bone colored and make the border different.

Bone colored? You mean white? But platerock is white…
I was thinking still grey but with a pinkish-orange tint, kind of like partway between this grey color and the clay bricks color… idk...

I'll try changing the border, but In nor sure how I'll like that.

I was thinking more of a Caramel-like color. Like the fossils or something.

Maybe give it more of a gradient look, rather than a bucket fill look?

Nope. It's supposed to have a bucket filled look, that's why it's mostly bucket filled. :P

I was thinking I might do some border colors different, like a white border on all colors of cloth blocks.

I was just looking, this is more similar to Wack3's eccentricity pack, than Wack3blocks.

Well, I've established a couple guidelines for this.
1: Only straight lines. Horizontal, vertical or sometimes 45° diagonal.
2: Each block is only 2 colors (not counting the border), except for furniture and a few special things.

I'm not going to do everything. Like I'll leave all farm plants, holiday decorations and some other things the way they are.
I hope to get it to where at least all basic blocks and everything generated in a new world is re-textured though.

Now, time to test my progress *loads onto iPod* Woah! Those mithril chests are an interesting shade of green…

I kind of gave up on that halfway :P
Dirt, sand and stone have a black border; most other stuff has a border the same color as the block, but darker.

And I'm almost done with this. I've just got to make a few more tweaks. I'll release it in a day or two.

The little blue dots tried to drive me crazy, when they realized they couldn't they gave up and told me their secrets.
I was going to use their secrets to make a night vision texture pack.
Sadly they later told me that they had LIED!

 That would have been very helpful.

This isn't as crazy as it sounds, and is sort of on topic. :asd:
