For the special benefits from equipment, does the game tell you or do you just have to guess what it's doing? For example, how do you know a particular piece/set makes you immune to fall damage? Same for trinket bonuses...

When in your inventory, tap the arrow above your characters head. This will show you all your stats; health, defense, attack, and speed. Different armors and trinkets will change these stats. If that armor/trinket has a special buff, there will be a symbol below the stats indicating the buff.

Hey there, I am new to the whole genre, I decided to get Junk Jack X because of prettier art style and the fact that it seems to work better on iPhone, it's a fun little game so far, though it's not exactly newbie friendly...

Do the items stay for long when you get killed? Ugh, I was looking for Iron extensively (I've found different ores but not Iron as if it didn't even exist, really hampers moving forward to the point the game balance feels broken...) and ended up really deep down in a mineshaft where I got killed by some powerful zombie monster. The thing is I came back and couldn't really find the place I got killed and I used dynamite thinking that's gonna kill the bastard... So I guess I lost items i needed for moving forward.
Anyway, how do you prepare for escapades like that where you have to move deep down and your shelter is going to be far away?

Also what are biomes?

Overall it's a nice charming game, it reminds me a lot of Harvest Moon for some reason, but way more hardcore!

Biomes are areas where the themes are different. Ie, the blocks will be mushroom dirt, and there will be lots of mushrooms around.

Items stay around for about 5 minutes :P

I generally make sure I have heaps of healing items ready on one of my quickslots at all times :sisi:

And welcome to teh forums :D

Woah that was fast, thanks for the reply :)

Cool, so it means I was too late. Getting there took more than 5 minutes minutes or so. I don't know if I enjoy digging that much, have anyone else had problems with finding Iron? Maybe it's too early in the game to go on adventures with a stone sword.

So I haven't really enountered a Biome yet, the world must be much bigger than I thought, guess I need to set up more than one house :)

Oh I am going to spend some time on this title...

Welcome to the forum! I mine in a different world, once I've finished I delete the world and go back to my main work :) Remember, your characters inventory is carried through worlds ;)

Iron seemed remarkably rare in my first world too, so I know that pain. Would also be helpful to newbies like me if it flashed the name of the things going into my inventory when I picked them up as I still haven't learned the different ores by sight.
