JJx: Way Too Technical.

PostSat Apr 19, 2014 2:16 am

Distance from the Sun
Assuming all of Junk Jack X takes place in one solar system, I've guessed the positions of the planets relative to the sun, judging by their climates / atmospheres.
Sun - Magmar - Seth - Terra - Alba - Xeno - Cryo

The Portals
I think that all the planets of Junk Jack could have, at one point, been one large planet. An ancient race, possibly humans, used teleporters for easy travel around the planet, and at this time, the planets were diverse islands. The planet broke up into several pieces, whether it be from a massive asteroid or planet collision, and the chunks eventually formed into their own planets.
The portal pieces were still on each planet, but as rock and soil began to pile up from the chunks' gravitational pull, the portal pieces were forever confined to the depths of each planet... or were they?

Jack / You
So how did Jack get there? It's highly unlikely he was one of the survivors of the ancient race because Jack would've died of old age by the time Terra fully formed into it's own planet, and there's no way he could've survived on a chunk of floating space rock.
Or could he?
Jack never ages. He couldn't have died of old age. But of course, he would have suffocated in space, with no atmosphere to breath under, right?
Well, we don't know if Jack can breathe in space. It's highly unlikely, since he can't breathe underwater, and it's pretty much the same thing. But maybe - just maybe - he survived by using immunities? Such as the diving helmet. If it lets him breathe underwater, it should be the same story for space.
So when you first hop into your first adventure world, Jack could've been there on that floating chunk of rock, waiting millions upon billions of years for something as diverse and beautiful as Terra to form - and here you are, ready to take Jack on adventures through this new world.

Rares
Short and sweet for this one. So, you know how most rares can be found in chests underground? What if those were storage units utilized by this ancient race, and rares were actually equipment they used, and Jack happened to encounter it underground?

The Undead
So we know Junk Jack X is filled to the brim with undead monsters. So back to the ancient race one more: what if these undead monsters ARE the ancient race? A mutation or disease could've broken out upon destruction of the single planet.

I know this all sounds really weird and stupid. But it feels so much cooler, playing Junk Jack X, and trying to think of the big picture, the secrets behind everything you encounter.

Magmar could be a venus-type planet.(But has no thick atmosphere in-game)

The X
What does the X in Junk Jack X mean? In my brain, I have a picture that it means that we are the tenth generation of these weird humanoids controlling the solar system. That doesn't explain why we are the only humanoids on the planets though...

Disaster
As we all know, there are zombies and skeletons on the planet Terra. There are even Zombie Miners. We can also get both broken and functional mining helmets. Maybe there was some kind of Apocalypse or an asteroid strike where a child or even a fetus were the only survivor? The person living on Terra is a little short, which may be caused by him/her not being fully evolved, or not being taken care of growing up, since there was no one to do it.

Dimension-Jumping
We also have the possibility to visit other people on planets like our own. The planet is called the same, has the same population of creatures and has the same amount of survivors. This should be enough proof that one of the things surviving the great, unidentified disaster was a technology designed to travel across dimensions.

That's all I got :P

i think alba should be closer to the sun than xeno. Considering it's a water-based planet, it would need to live in this special zone near terra where water can exist.

Maybe the empty portal slot as seen in the files is a portal to the sun?

If we want to base this off real life, then Magmar would actually be the 2nd planet from the sun - seeing as Mercury (though the closest planet to the sun) is not the hotest planet. Rather, Venus is.

Alba and Xeno must be extremely close together, seeing as Alba is clearly visible from the surface of Xeno.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
And I feel fine...

That's odd... One should've thought that the gravitational pull would've smashed them together by now if that is so...

They must be orbiting each other.
Since our moon is much smaller than the earth it orbits the earth.
But, I think with two bodies of almost equal mass they would each pull on the other, making them orbit around a spot in space half-way between them.
