I have been noticing around the Help & Support forums that people heed great help with what gems/items do what. So here is your guide! This long article does not include ALL items, but it does include rare ones. The rest are for you to discover on your own.
How to Encrust
Encrusting is what allows you to upgrade your tools/armor. To encrust, you will need gems. Find them underground.
There are nine gems to be mined underground, they are:
•Ruby
•Emerald
•Topaz
•Sapphire
•Amythest
•Diamond
•Tourmaline
•Citrine
•Tanzanite
Now to use them:
1. Take four of the same gem and craft a Encrust Gem.
You will need the Tinkerer's Tools Add-On.

Survival Guide
----Basics-
Before building an amazing house with decorations and everything, you must first learn how to survive. When you first spawn in a world, your first priority is to find trees. I recommend crafting a wood axe after the first few so you can chop chop faster. Another main thing is to dig up coal from the dirt blocks below. Don't confuse coal with tin, as tin has a silver glint to it. Coal can be used to craft torches, and smelt items in a furnace. There will most likely be animals all around you, so make sure you slaughter some cows, sheep, pigs, and chickens! Their meat will be quite helpful--and tasty!
----Night-
Night is approaching! It is time to build your first shelter! I recommend crafting torches, shovels, swords, and a workbench. First, with your shovel, you dig into the ground as your first cave. Make it spacial, so you can improve it later! With your torches, light up your cozy cave so monsters don't spawn inside. Place a workbench, as they are helpful for other add-ons, such as furnaces, mason benches, and even wood armor!
----Mining-
Mining is one of Junk Jack's best features, as the game pretty much revolves around it! With your shovel, in your newly dug cave, start digging downwards in a chosen fashion, and begin your adventure. There WILL be monsters down here, so make sure you have your swords equipped. Soon enough, you will begin to see more coal, tin, and even stone! Craft some pickaxes, and break away that rock. Under the stone level, more caves will form, with interesting biomes and ores! Biomes include chests in them, which are helpful in the state of collecting rare items, weapons, and tools! But remember--you will need a hammer and a key to break most chests!
----Monsters-
Monsters, or mobs, play a big role in Junk Jack X, as they make a challenge of the game. They spawn in dark areas, mostly at nighttime, and will attack you without hesitation! Most monsters can be defeated with a sword, but there are also spears, and mauls! Mauls are used against skeletons, and mostly every scary mob that shakes and rattles. Spears, as assumed, are best used against peaceful mobs, such as cows, pigs, chickens, and sheep!

How To - Restore Backup Files ! -by Sollision
- Open Spoiler
- I see a lot of you are struggling in restoring your .bak files for Junk Jack X. Don't know what I'm talking about?
A .bak file is the leftover file when you delete a world. The original world file will be deleted, but your backup file will still exist.
Okay, let's get started, shall we?
Requirements:
a: PC or Jailbroken iOS Device
b: Good listening skills.
c: A brain.
PC Use
1) First of all, you are going to want to have a file viewer for your PC. WinRar for example.
2) Download iFunBox and find Junk Jack X inside the PC application. (Your idevice must be connected to view its files).
a: Applications > Junk Jack X > Documents > Worlds
b: You will see a backup file of your recently deleted world, but not the original world file.
c: Backup file will be named - name.dat.bak . "Name" is whatever you have named your deleted world.
3) Copy the .bak file and paste it into a folder wherever you want. (Desktop folder is recommended.)
4) Use WinRar to find the .bak file in your desktop folder, or wherever you pasted it.
5) Find the file, and rename it to name.dat instead of name.dat.bak .
a: Make sure the original .bak file is backupped (oh, the irony) so it is able to try again.
6) Paste the new renamed file into your Junk Jack X world folder back in iFunBox.
a: And delete the old one.
b: If it works, you can delete the file on your desktop also.
iOS Use
1) Follow these steps if your iOS device is jailbroken.
2) Download iFile and find Junk Jack X inside the Cydia application.
a: Applications > Junk Jack X > Documents > Worlds
b: You will see a backup file of your recently deleted world, but not the original world file.
c: Backup file will be named - name.dat.bak . "Name" is whatever you have named your deleted world.
3) Copy the .bak file and paste it into a folder wherever you want. (New or Documents Folder is recommended).
4) Find the file, and rename it to name.dat instead of name.dat.bak .
a: Make sure the original .bak file is backupped (oh, the irony) so it is able to try again.
6) Paste the new renamed file into your Junk Jack X world folder back in iFunBox.
a: And delete the old one.
b: If it works, you can delete the file in the other folder you made also.
Side Notes:
This method will only work if your .bak file has bytes. This is where brain is needed.
This currently only works for standalone worlds. I will try and experiment for adventure worlds.
Whew. Hope this helps.
