Locked door

PostSat Jul 19, 2014 7:47 am

I searched and amazingly it wasnt there, so i figured I'd post it.. I think you should be able to put a lock on a door in junk jackX. Just like how you can put one on a chest or furnace. It would make it so only you can open the door...pretty simple..

There is kind of, Not necessarily for doors but your whole structure. If you craft a few world lock blocks and place them about it will actually protect everything in it's protective zone from any multiplayer Sabotage (multiplayer only not from mob explosion or yourself). Also the higher quality the lock block is made of the farther they protect.

So the locked blocks are kind of like a locked door but it doesn't keep them from walking around your house it just keeps them from breaking or stealing your things.

I know that it's just I already have multi player settings that prevent them from touching my shop...I would just think its cool to be able to block off the storage area and exit so when they spawn the actually look around the shop and dont run away...

Foolproof! It's not like they could, say, dig around it!
Thanks, Solly.

I'm not sure about it being a door, but I'd like a block that stops clients from walking through it, but the host can. So you could have a kind of "Authorized entry only" part of your house.

Of course not, that's what world locks are for.

Yes, but wouldn't that mean in order to completely and fully protect an area, you'd have to close it off? :asd:

In other words it would need both walls and a door, yes.

I love this idea. You could put a locked door on your shop so that you could grab requested items off shelf without saying "please go to the top floor for a minute" or even just have a bedroom that they couldn't get into. This isn't for like security, it's just for role playing and for coolness.

I think it would be very cool. The key would have to be crafted differently than a chest key, though. Maybe like this:

"Door Key"
I = Iron Ingot
B = Iron Bar
Done in Tinkerer's Tools
[_][I][_]
[_][I][_]
[_][B][_]

Roleplaying is fun!

Jack ran towards his house while a horde of zombies chased him. He tried to open his door but he was unable to open it. He had forgotten his keys. Now he must face the horde of zombies, "Yolo!", he said. He died instantly. Eaten alived. He forgot that he could barricade himself in a dirt house with the dirt in his inventory.

There would not be a key. If there were a key anyone would be able to open it.
