Recruitable NPCs

I know this idea will probably be shot Down in the blink of an eye but it would be cool if you could recruit special NPCs that you find on your travels for example: you are mining in terra and you may find a miner or demolitionist that you can be friend by giving them certain items or doing their quest (this could also introduce quests to the game as well) then when your friendship meter is at a high enough level you can recruit them (or not your call). These NPCs could also give/sell you items not normally found in the outside worldo (keep in mind that these NPCs have a slim, moderate, high, very high, or extremely high chance of spawning depending on your game difficulty settings).


Also i was thinking on different planet there could be alien/monster NPCs you can recruit that have foreign ingredients this is something that could help you stay interested in the game for a longer period of time because, let's face it we all get bored of mining repeatedly and we get tuckered out when we search for rares and can't find any so, this could be something to keep the game interesting

And maybe there could be a new mining or cave themed world that had a better chance of spawning these people and other ores and gems.

This, is, a, wonderful, idea! If this comes out into Junk Jack X, I will never be alone again! What about in the library (since it looks like a castle), there would be guards/knights.

The concept is neat. There could even be Skyrim-esque things like mercenaries and followers but… yeah, what those two said. Simply put, it's… a difficult concept to work into a 2-D world. At least, it seems that way.

Understandable but I'm pretty sure since they worked something like electronics in you can't just assume they can't or won't do something just because it's "too difficult"

Making them would probably be a coding nightmare. And there are only 2 devs making JJX.

I've always liked the idea of having NPC's available to interact with, possibly even recruitment.

I'm cringing.

I mean just because you add some extra people doesn't mean it takes the focus away from junk jack Plus online is kind of the same thing really. but, at the same time online players can Act on their own and NPCs can't

...why a facepalm? Is Junk Jack practically an adventure? Especially Junk Jack X. Same with: Minecraft, Terraria, Block Story, Survivalcraft, Minebuilder, and many others that are similar.
