Playing on Hard difficulty. Died to an exploding enemy. Did not drop anything on death - inventory, equipment, quickslots were all fine.

In case it matters, I'm wearing the following items:
Open Spoiler
Full Mithril armor, Lume Trinket, and on cosmetic dress tab, the Yellow Plumber hat and Glasses 3D Shirt.

I've dropped my stuff on death plenty of times in the past few days, so wondering if something I've picked up has a special hidden attribute, or if I just got lucky, or if there is a bug.

Update: In the name of science, I just died again, and this time I did drop my inventory and equipped items. So...

If you're playing multiplayer, you might have the setting "no drop on death" enabled in the multiplayer options. It's there to reduce some forms of scamming.

There is a safe cooldown at the beginning of the game, when you join, during which you can't drop items. This has been added because when you are joining a world you never know the situation you'd end up with so it's just a safety measure :)
