Titling Topics in Items and Trades

PostFri Sep 20, 2013 8:02 pm

If you have time, read THIS topic on the General Rules of titling topics as well :)

(To give a bit of background), The fastest way for us moderators to moderate the forum is by...
1) Logging in
And 2) Going straight to "View New Posts"

However, it is getting increasingly harder to figure out which topics are from which section as there are now PAGES of them each time we log on.

So, from this point forward, as a way to help us Mods, please add these phrases to the beginning of topic titles:

>In the "Items and Trades" sub-forum, if you're looking to trade, write "[TRADE]" then the rest of the title
Examples:
[TRADE] Selling Full Titanium Set to Highest Bidder
[TRADE] Looking to Buy Any Rares, Will Trade Mithril
[TRADE] Rare for Rare

No disrespect whatsoever, but can't you guys edit posts to make people relate to this, like change them, because unless you get this noticed, nobody will do it.

We shouldn't have to re-title every topic in The Market.

I may not be understanding this completely, but, shouldn't every thread in the market section be naturally assumed that it deals with trading? That is the whole point of the section anyway. I can understand re-titling in places where there should be more than one topic, but adding "Trade" on a title that's in the trade section seems rather useless.

When using the "view your post"s or "view new posts" pages, you can't see what section posts are in, without going to them.

another one of these title topics? ugh. just let people do what they want. you can't force "Chris' Proper English" onto people. Especially those that don't normally speak english.

Ah, I see. In that case, you can't really moderate a thread without going to it as we'll, correct?

If you we're a moderator you wouldn't say that.

So why disrespect Chris? He's just trying to help the community.

I don't want to moderate all the posts though.
I want to ignore all the multiplayer ones…

oh trust me. i've been around here for quite awhile; i know my way around. (and i'm quite the secret grammar nazi)

If i was a moderator, i'd still say that. I'm not disrespecting him, i'm just saying that it's not necessary. It doesn't seem right to make lot's of other people's lives harder, just to please one or two people. Mastery and twelve have been moderating fine without all the titling rules. All you have to do is look to where things are located.

tell me this isn't incredibly redundant! it's in a market forum, you don't need to announce [TRADE] in the trading forum. You also don't need to announce [MULTIPLAYER] in the multiplayer forum.

I also use that "new posts" technique and have been so for a long time. It's not that hard do decipher where a topic is located, if you just look. The fact that there are pages of new posts, doesn't have anything to do with where i topic is located. We might as well put [GENERAL] in general and [CREATION] in creations. It's very pointless.

edit: just to clarify, here's where this topic is located. Image

Also, we should put [Shop] for shops.
