Junk Jack Breeding Guide

PostSun Dec 09, 2012 4:58 pm

Hello Junk Jack Forum!

First of all, a big thanks to the wiki for pictures and some info. I found most of this first hand or from the full craftbook, but some info, such as any percentages are from the wiki.
I made this guide to help people who are confused about how to breed, or are new to Junk Jack altogether. Breeding is a fun way of gaining food and resources, along with cute baby animals ;)

Here is a link to the official wiki. http://wiki.pixbits.com

Today I am posting a Breeding Guide, for people who are confused on how to breed.
First of all, you are going to need wheat. You can find wheat seeds in crates underground. They are very rare to find (or atleast used to be in past updates, not sure about 1.2.3), since you only have a 5% chance of finding them in crates (Again, I am not positive this is exact). You will then need to plant the wheat and farm it, and I recommend to have a very large wheat farm, especially if you are caring for sheep, since sheep love wheat.

After you gather a good amount of wheat, you will need to make taming collars. To make a taming collar, use this design:
Taming Collar:Image

CB= Image (copper bars)
L= Image(Leather)

Okay, now, with the new taming collar in your hand, tap on a sheep, cow, chicken, or pig, and you will recieve a portable animal called a pocket pig. Now, don't do anything with that just yet, we need a breeding stable.

There are 4 types of breeding stables, each for a different animal. They are all made differently, so follow these recipes.

Okay, now once you have the proper stable, tap it with the pocket animal in your hand, and the animal should appear in the stable. Make sure you have any exits blocked off, because the animals will escape if you don't.

Each stable can hold three animals. I would recommend putting a female and male into each stable, becuase they will then breed. Animals only breed when they are happy, and they are happy when fed. Feed your animals often with the appropriate food.

Nice work copying stuff from the wiki...

No, it's not as bad as I just made it sound.

All the images are off the wiki.
He did write or at least rework all the text.

It's not like he just completely copy/pasted a wiki page to here, like people have done before.

:teach:
I actually credit the wiki at the bottom of the post, and I wrote all the text myself, no copy & paste. I did get the pictures from the wiki, as I couldn't find them anywhere else. I made this because when breeding came out I was very confused, and the wiki can take a lot of clicks to get to one piece of info. This just compacts it into one easy to read page that may be easier for you to use.

If you look at Tye Dye's Beginners Guide, It is mostly info on the wiki packed into one post.

I'm just looking to help newbies learn a complicated game.

Yeah, I didn't mean for it to sound like I had a problem with it.
But the "breeding" wiki page is pretty similar to this.
1. Junk-Jack-Wiki
2. The world is big, 256 blocks high and 768 across.
3. Who is John Galt?
4. Lack of objection does not indicate consent.

touché.
This guide has less clicks to get to the info you need, IMO.

I would rather use this than the wiki, but I guess you can think what you want

Fair enough.
I'm not criticizing you.

Perhaps we should put this guide and TyeDyes guide on the "Guides" wiki page so other people can find them.
