Another Junk Jack Update?

PostThu Sep 19, 2013 4:54 pm

Apple has implemented a new feature to allow devs to give users previous app versions for legacy devices. Does this mean we will finally see another Junk Jack update, or is it over?

You can read more about it here: http://www.idownloadblog.com/2013/09/19/apple-manage-older-app-versions/

:dunno: Maybe.
If they do an update I'm 100% sure they won't be adding the new Junk Jack X features to it. It will just be to add new treasures and small content updates like Pixbits planned before Apple messed things up.. :)

Apple's new legacy version policy does allow for the possibility of an update while still, technically, maintaining backward compatibility with users on pre-3GS era hardware, so hopefully they will revisit the original game if for no other reason than it is permanently trapped in Valentine's day ;)

However, I wouldn't expect much. The vast majority of their customer base have devices perfectly capable of playing JJX, and that is where their focus will and *should* be. Still, a barebones update to add widescreen support and remove seasonal content wouldn't take much effort and would make the original JJ "current" for those who won't make the switch to the sequel for whatever reason.
