Basically Apple made it so that a new version of xCode required to enable usage of additional screen space on the iPhone 5 was incompatible with the processors used by the iPod Touch 2 and iPhone 3G. At the time if an app was updated with a higher iOS requirement then those without that iOS wouldn't be able to download the app. This was later changed, but by the time that happened everything had already been set in motion and there simply wasn't much point to updating the original Junk Jack.
