Stickies are at the top anyways, doesn't matter. Doesn't really matter for normal topics either, but meh.

True... I wondered about some announcements I have seen but are still there but old and ended long ago.

Announcements or stickies? I thought I got rid of the obsolete announcements, but don't bother with stickies...

The got rid of the News section. That's in a super secret section now.

Ok, so please don't tell me I'm grave digging on this thread, because that would be very embarrassing and ironic XD. So my actual question is, the grave digging rules don't apply to announcements right?

Correct... Gravedigging does not apply to sticky topics or announcements.
Technically.

Well, I obviously don't get it about the gravedigging.

For example, I've asked a few questions last week in some really old topics (6+ months) about saplings, some biomes, etc.
Because I needed answers that didn't exist before. And I'm going to do so with other questions that I may have later.

Because it does not matter if the topic is old or not. If it's relevant and any player wants to ask smth - it should be asked in the corresponding existing topic, if there is some.

According to your logic, should I stay without an answer because the topic is "old"??? Or should I duplicate a topic while creating a new one????

It has no sense and it's not player friendly.

The general consensus is that it's perfectly fine to gravedig if you're contributing something useful to the discussion.. So if you're trying to be a rule breaker, it's not working :asd:

Well, I was talking about the main statements in the first post in this topic.
It clearly says:
... commenting on a post/thread (Also called a topic) that is generally 2+ weeks old. It is often disliked ...
... it is commonly frowned upon to comment on old topics...
... Do not comment on anything over 2 weeks old...

It has nothing to do with me wanting to brake rules or smth like that. It actually abused me.
Because according to that I'm not allowed to ask what I need to know.

Those small exceptions mentioned there are so unclear comparing to these main statements or do not apply to me as I'm new in this forum (which in my case has nothing to do with my game experience, but that's not the point)

What I want to say is: it's either a not well-considered rule or a terrible description of a rule.

The forum "rules" are more of guidelines that the more senior members have set down as an example. They were not made by the admins, nor have they recieved any support or input from pixbits. So if you really wanted, you could completely disregard all of them. But eventually after annoying enough people you would end up banned. There have been many small aditional "rules" and guidelines that the community has come up with over the years that are not mentioned in threads such as these. Eg, Posting pictures, unless the thread is in report bugs, most people choose to place pictures inside a spoiler, it's not a "rule", but a guideline.

Double posting is frowned upon, because we have an edit button. If it's been a significant amount of time, eg a week and nobody replied, then you can post on the same topic again to add something useful.
