Themed Houses: by TwelveFoot

I can't compete with the size of building made by some people here, so I'll compete with quantity.
These are what I have done so far. I'm eventually going to make a mayan, egyptian, etc house too.
They are pretty much in the order I made them.
Note: Nothing has been duplicated.

This is my first house.
I have redone it once or twice. It's just the right size to hold all my treasures without being big enough to get lost in.
In the zoomed out pic you can see some of my tunnels. One, that I call my underground highway, is strait all the way across the world. It is also paved the whole way across. All my houses connect to it.

Here is a more zoomed in view.

And here are the treasure shelves at the top. Come on, say it with me, "oooh aaah..."
Image

This is my tree-house. Named that because it is made of trees.
This was made before saplings so it took a bit of effort to find a location with that many trees around.
Could also be called my forest home, that makes a bit more sense.
Image
Once again in the zoomed out view you can see my tunnels (these are more recent tunnels so they are more orderly), and my underground highway.
Image

This is my in-trees-house. Made after saplings.
Nothing special I just planted a bunch of trees and added walls and a roof.
Image

This is my platerock bunker, capable of almost withstanding a nuclear blast.
Image

This thing appears to be some sort of bamboo guard tower...
I'm not sure what I was thinking when I made this.
On an unrelated note: look at how tall that tree is.
Image

This is my (for lack of a better name) hellhole.
Image
My zombie and skeleton guards.
Image

This is my Cozy cottage.
It is kind of small and cluttered, but that makes it feel more homey.
If my math is right this used 88 clay, that's part of the reason it's not bigger.

Wow, I love the cottage stuff.. I might just have to build a new house, but I'm not quite sure how I'll fit all my stuff in a tiny cottage.

Dead trees look cool especially with the hands coming from them.

:look: Well, no mods or admins have yelled at me yet, so I guess I'm not in trouble for posting this...

:sisi: The cottage stuff looks pretty cool. The only problem is that is uses so much clay.
It makes it hard to make a big house without dupeing. I actually have about 300 clay in a chest somewhere, so I could make that house 4x it's size. But I kind of like it small, plus I want to save my clay incase they come out with anything else that uses it.

Thanks everybody,
TwelveFoot

Yeah, the clay with be a challenge.. how much clay does each cottage block use? I figured that I have 420 pieces of clay in my brick house (not that I can use it), but I do have a small store in one of my chests.

Each cottage brick uses 2 clay.

:sisi: The bricks use 2 clay.
The roof tiles use 6 clay.
Half blocks use half the clay (makes sense doesn't it?).

So therfore in my house
21 bricks = 42
7 halves = 8 (I have on left over)
5 roof tiles = 30
7 half tiles = 8 (one left, I might expand this house one block since I have these leftovers)
That adds up to... 88 huh appearently my math was wrong the first time.
Edit time.

Roof tiles use 24 clay

What do you mean?
Making a single roof tile block uses 6.
Because you put 3 clay in your craft area and that makes 2 single roof tiles, you do that twice (using 6 clay total) to get 4 single roof tiles, then you put those together.
Or are you talking about something else?

I really like all your creations, except your first house who looks (for me) horrible, the sand as walls and the grey bricks blocks for the roof… The other ones are great. ;) Good work. :)
