This needs to be done via shell script, inserting a showcase into every background block. I almost finished the code, but no power in the work PC.

Will eventually get this done for you, sorry!

Looking forward to the finished world too! Also, will take a copy of the finished shell script. :approved:

After some more editing, I've gotten this thing as far as I can go with it. :dunno:

It looks pretty cool, though. But there is one major flaw with it. You can't place any items in the showcases, it'll crash the game. Damn.
Now its up to someone else to take this project and finish it. So here is the download link to the stubborn showcases world.

(If anyone can tell me what I did wrong, feedback would be appreciated. Good luck to you.)

I've been examining the .dat file for showcases and realized why the map was crashing. You see, each showcase is more than just one set of hex digits. It also includes code for each item in it, and that code is added on to the end of the world.dat file. So every time you add a showcase block to your world, the block hex value is added to the world.dat map AND values for that showcase block are tagged onto the end of the file. So just adding the showcases to the world map won't work. I would have to add code to the end of the world.dat file for each and every showcase placed. If this theory is true, then the world file could become much bigger in size! Well, that's my hunch, but as far as adding those values at the end of the world.dat file, I won't be able to. :(
