Loud and annoying, I'm not sure if I could stand to listen to him for 4+ years.
But on the flip-side of that at least he takes a strong position, I do want my leader to be in charge.
No.
Donald Trump doesn't take a strong position out of courage. He's a businessman who knows how to get what he wants, and he knows that by generating media coverage he can reinforce his strength. He's publicly said that a Black Lives Matters protester deserves to be roughed up. That's not courage, that's cowardice. He's said that the innocent families of terrorists should be killed. That's not only cowardly and a war crime by the Geneva Convention, but also is going to only strengthen the cause of ISIS and their crusading terrorizing west narrative.
Every innocent whose life is negatively affected by a bomb we drop (including those who had ISIS family members that were killed) is a potential recruit for ISIS. We may even stomp out ISIS in the short term, but we can't change the minds of the Iraqi and Syrian people by dropping bombs on their heads unless by change minds one means convert them to a bloody pulp. We can destroy ISIS through such action, but another ISIS will spring up as surely as the Taliban sprung up in the aftermath of our ousting of Saddam Husein. How many ISISes will have sprung up by the time we've killed everyone who could be a member? How many innocents will have been killed? Will we truly be able to say when all is said and done and bombs have neutralized the threat once and for all that we are any better than ISIS?
If you elect Donald Trump, if you elect Marco Rubio, if you elect Ted Cruz, if you elect John Kasich, if you elect any republican other than Rand Paul, if you elect Hillary Clinton, then that's where we're headed.
Thanks, Stuart98.
