I'd like to suggest the idea of a key ring. This is because keys are pretty important for opening chests while exploring. However, carrying some of each type of key can take up a good chunk of your inventory for gathering. So I propose a key ring.
This can be implemented one of a few different ways.
Type 1: add a slot to the equipment screen that functions like a container but is specifically for keys and has enough room for each type of key. By slot I'm referring to the slots that equipment pieces are placed in. This may not be the best way to implement this idea so see the other options below.
Type 2: add a third tab functioning like a container in the equipment/outfit stack in the inventory for these rings (Note: for players that may not know yet, when in the inventory you can tap on the helmet to switch to a second set of equipment slots used as an outfit. This will change the helmet to a top hat and the equipment slots will become purple to also denote this. This is why I use the term "equipment/outfit stack").
Type 3: add a key ring tab that functions like a container on the inventory screen between the craft tab and the trash can. I know this is where the chest tab appears when interacting with a chest so the trash can could be moved left closer to the map button to make room for a key ring tab.
Key limits: should there be a limit to how many of each key can be stored in the key ring? I personally would like the key stacks to be capable of maxing out normally. However, if the developers wanted to implement more realism they could cap each key stack at perhaps 10 or 20 keys of each type.
